Our September 9 chapter meeting will focus on the use of the iTouch and iPad for individuals across the spectrum and in a variety of settings including the home, school and community. What do you need to know about using the iTouch/iPad with individuals on the autism spectrum? With the growing popularity of mobile tablet devices like the iPad/iTouch, what factors should you consider before purchasing? Is one device better than the other? What are apps? How can they help individuals on the autism spectrum function in the home, community and work settings? This session will provide an overview of the iOS device and focus on various applications, “apps” which can be useful for individuals on the autism spectrum.
Participants will have hands – on access to an iTouch and will walk away from the session with a better understanding of the many applications available.
